The answer is pretty obvious, it comes with more stuff. I believe apache, php, mysql, filezilla, and much more comes with slackware. Just get ubuntu or a distro of linux that you feel is appropriate for your machine actions.
jk
afaik, you only need the first cd not the entire dvd iso. the rest of the 3gb are just packages which you would download after installation.
p.s. arch > slackwar

Only the first? Great.
Hmm arch sounds nice too. I will try both.
Lmao.
You never used google, did you?
How about clicking one of the first two results you get there, where exactly the same question is being asked...

Lys you failed to click on the I'm feeling lucky button.
YouTube video.
Also, by clicking the link here below will take you to the website of Slackware if you're interested.
Homepage.
I think the big amount is caused by all extra plugins, executables, such as music players, games, and what not. That's what I think takes up all that space, so I'm sure it's not a big deal since Windows takes up like, what? 4GB? I'm just guessing the approximate size of the OS but anyways. It sort of just means Linux distroes are turning out to be more like Windows distroes.
I assume there will be no need to crossplatform no more? I guess that in the future. All distro's will have the same features, however it's just my speculations for now.
