Guys... Microsoft updates ain't gonna do it... Actually, -Darkness- was on the right lines...

OpenGL is the open graphics layer and was designed for compatability ages ago...
OpenGL's own Wiki has written
Windows

If you are running Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista, the OpenGL library has already been installed on your system.

This has been around for years. OpenGL is nothing new and is CERTAINLY NOT blisteringly fast. A game set to use the OpenGL renderer won't provide 3D Hardware Acceleration if your GFX card doesn't have a driver capable of using the OpenGL renderer.

OpenGL's own Wiki has written
The standard Windows OpenGL32.dll library alone will not provide you with hardware acceleration for OpenGL. In order to get hardware acceleration, you will need to install the latest drivers for your graphics card. The second reason to install new drivers is to have the latest version of GL on your system (the max version supported by your GPU):...

So basically, update your GFX card drivers to the latest available from your provider (NVidia, ATi, whoever...) and you'll automatically install the latest usable OpenGL renderer that's compatible with your card...

OpenGL's "Getting Started" Wiki

This would also be a lot easier if you tell us:

1: What architecture are you using? x86 (32bit) or x64 (64bit)?
2: What Operating System are you using? Linux (which flavour) or windows (which version)?
3: What GFX card are you using? Make and model is needed...

However, if you get this information, then you can simply put it into google... As an example, my search would be "x86 windows XP Nvidia 6600 driver"... First hit is what I need...

I hope this helps...
