Trading Islands

I'm currently planning a map that emphasizes trading with natives. It will have three islands: a heavily forested one, one with abundant minerals, and one with plentiful wildlife. Before I can start though, I have some scripting questions.
1. I plan to use massive mod as a base, is there anything I need to know about making a map with it?
2. Is it possible to give the three islands separate maps that you can access with a boat or should they be placed in a single large map?
3. I'm not entirely sure how to set up the traders. I can probably get the trade interface working by looking at the scripts for other traders but how do you assign dialogue to a npc?

I don think so, mapping should be exactly the same as in the vanilla version.

both is possible and both ways have their pros and cons.
while making 3 islands on one big map may result in occasional lags (depending on how many objects you place) it obviously doesnt need any scripting for mapchanges for which you'd need at least some scripting skills. depneding ob how you implement it it will be a small to medium efford but it compensates in a smaller chance for the game to lag on older computers.

try using the search function on this site and look up terms like "trading" or "trade". this topic has been covered a thousand times already.
Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to put this map on hold until i get better at scripting. The things I'm planning are too complex for me right now.
